The Hollywood Bowl's concert on Monday night was disappointing. I've been a fan of Breaking Benjamin for years, first catching them at the 2000 Weenie Roast. I thought their initial show was superior, back when they were clueless about what they were doing compared to their current state with multiple platinum albums. It felt like they were going through the motions, with little to no creativity or production value in the performance. The show was a replica of their album tracks, lacking any real production value. I could have easily stayed home, played their music, saved on parking fees, and achieved the same result. It appeared as though Brandon Boyd was unnecessary, and the audience mainly wanted to sing along to familiar tunes. While I have admiration for the band, this was not their finest display.
